From the "Seemed like a good idea at the time ...

It’s 5.45 am on a cool Sunday morning and I’m standing in a car park waiting for the team to arrive.

As I stand there, I’m thinking about the conversation we had with Gary Palmer the president of St George Ulysses about six weeks prior. He was telling us about a bike show the club was organising and encouraging us to participate. I urged my colleagues to join in and fly our flag. “Come on, we are a brand new shop and could use the additional exposure,” I said. Me and my big mouth!

Anyway we organised ourselves and venture out on our first public outing as Trivett Harley – Davidson Sydney. Not long after we arrived and started to set up our display we were starting to answer questions from curious onlookers and club members. People seemed to be very interested that we are owned by a large automotive group and yet we’re bike people. They also couldn’t believe the current shop is only temporary with such a good selection of bikes on the floor (24 at last count) with more coming!

All too soon it’s 11.00am and everybody starts packing up before going on various rides to their special destination. I have to say, what a great morning with some fantastic displays from all the local bike shops. It was also great to see the Motorcycle Council participate with some great educational stuff.

A hearty well done to Gary Palmer and his entire crew from St George Sutherland Ulysses.
